Audience Expectations

To find out this I decided to give 3 people from my target audience range 1 minute to write down everything the can think of associated with horror then I will evaluate their decisions. This will help me to decide what people suspect from the horror genre in todays day an age.

I predict that monsters such as vampires, zombie sand werewolves will appear regularly with also mentions of murderers and psychopaths. I don't think many people will take notice of the sound but if they did would benefit the point of this research significantly.

Trailer Analysis 2

REC 2

Genre

The Genre for REC 2 is Horror. The plot follows a SWAT team infiltrating a house to try and find the source of the outbreak of a demonic virus. They capture all of the super natural occurrences on the helmet cameras equipped with their uniform. Therefore the film is mainly from their point of view to see what the see when trying to find what they are looking for. Director Jaume Balagueró has produced many other horror films so he has experience in making this type of film and so he knows how it should be done, therefore I shall pay attention to the details he adds to this trailer so i could pick up some tips when crating my own.

Title

I personally think that the title for REC 2 is very well created. Normally when someone used a video camera they can see the white lines to show the area of which you are filming. Inside the box there is the word REC in block capitals. My favourite part of the title though is how they have represented to small red circle which means you are recording. It is an eye of one of the victims that has been exposed to the demonic virus in the film. The title is mostly black but to effect is so good no one notices. This effect means that they can have the most simplest of backgrounds yet still be great as the effect of the title outshines everything else.

Location

The location for REC 2 is a building which has been known as a source for the virus outbreak. the plot is them trying to find the source before the virus escapes out into the real world. A lot of horror films are based in buildings as the directors can play around with supernatural occurrences where they can try to make the scariest thing out of a scenario. Rec 2 is known for its random deaths where people are just pulled or dragged into the darkness. This effect is good as the director has used the setting and location to enhance the effect the death has.

The Length of Shots

The length of shots in REC 2 are not very long as the film contains many scenes where it has to be fast or the effect will not work up to a standard. The speed of shots suggests that the film has very graphic scenes that happen quick enough to surprise and provoke a reaction from them. If they can see it coming the it would obviously be not as scary but the speed gives them no one warning making their reaction worse. The trailer can use slow shots however to build up to one of the fast scenes which will add to the tension of the scene. I will use this tactic when crating my film trailer as the more tense the scenario, the scarier the action.

Pace

There is one thing I notice about trailers is that when they are nearing the end the trailer enters fast pace clips before slowing right down where the main action is. This fast paces imagery along with an increasing volume of sound or music to increase the effect. With REC 2 they don't go for this option because they decide to add many scenes where things are happening to show that the film is full of action. This makes the trailer more exciting and thrills the user when they are watching it.

Editing

Rec 2 has the stereotyped editing for a horror film. The static screen change is used commonly is most horror films and this one makes no exception. it works i think a lot better however in this particular trailer as because most of the clips are recorded by video camera, static would actually occur so the director has interpreted the stereotype for a meaning and exciting special effect.

The second effect that this trailer is that he camera doing the filming is in the shot but smaller in the corner of the shot is what the camera sees. This effect will not work in the trailer that I would like to do because as my film trailer is not filmed from a camera perspective, however because this film it works so well.

Finally another effect from the editing in the trailer for REC 2 is that when they are entering the building the screen flashed with black pauses This is what World War Z did but to the music. REC 2 uses this effect for effect to signal that something could go very wrong when they enter this location.

Title Construction

Title Construction

Constructing title for films are away of expressing the characteristics of the film. These can have the ability to say if someone will remember he name of the film. A good example is superman as everyone knows his logo. Therefore when that is pushed against the title that states "Superman", we will remember it more clearly as the brand name is so unique.

Iron man 3 Analysis

For the title sequence of iron man 3 they use a very iconic and memorable way of expressing the titles. The clips are very short and are very fast paced and are constantly split into 3 sectors. Each sector is the same clip but are filtered different colours. Once the name of the person appears signalling their role in the making of the film the screen freezes and one of the filtered segments expand and the name of the person, enlarges so the audiences attention is now focused on the name. Each scene in this trailer is from various parts of the film so the audience are less likely to watch he parts of the film they had already scene and once again focus on the names of the people involved with the film.

21 Jump Street Analysis

This film provides another example into how titles can be shown in films. Similar to iron man, they also used fast pace scenes which slow right down when the name of a employee appears. However instead of freezing the screen when engulfed with the filter, they show a clip which is relevant to the film but not in the film. This includes two examples of someone snorting cocaine with a roll of money, and in another shot a huge pile of money. The effect of this is that the audience can relate the background to the film  but as it wasn't in the film wont pay much notice or attention to it and will read the names of the credits instead. One final factor is that it is filled with violent and explosive clips. This provides excitement for the audience when watching it as it means their focus is on the screen as they want to see more. Its when the action stops it leads to the scenes they relate but are not in the film. This decrease of explosions and fast paced violence makes the audience to read the name on the credits to pass the time until the next short paced explosive scenes are shown.

Overall these are two different ways of displaying titles. Although both have some similarities they each carry their own unique style which I need to think of so that when i create my trailer I have a good idea for what I can do for it.

Age Certificates

Age Certificates

U

What does it mean?

The U symbol stands for Universal. A U film should be suitable for anyone who is 4 years old or higher. There is an issue however as people do not know what will upset a child as it does vary.

What can it include?

  • It can include mild language such as "hell", "bugger", "bloody" and "damn". Nothing more serious.
  • The characters involved in the film may be seen kissing and cuddling but there will be no scenes where characters are doing anything more sexual such as making out or making love. This rating however has no overt focus on sexual behaviour or innuendos. These are also can be different types of relationships such as heterosexual or homosexual.
  • Sometimes characters will be placed in danger. With violent scenes, they will be balanced out very quickly to make sure of a re-assuring outcome.
  • The weapons the bad characters use in films will have no emphasis on them. Children and heroes in the film are unlikely to carry weapons. This hopes to send children a message to not take these actions into everyday society.
  • Dangerous behaviour will not be present in this film.
  • Only medical drugs will SOMETIMES appear but children the films are aimed for should understand what they are and their effects.
Examples

PG

What does it mean?

PG stands for Parental Guidance. This means that he film can be seen  anyone but may have some scenes that younger viewers might not like. A PG film is aimed at children ages 8 and over. Parents are responsible to see if the film may upset the child or not.

What can it include?

  • There could be some mild language such as "shit" and "son of a bitch". If this term is said aggressively it may be put in the next age category.
  • References to sex are ok if little detail is said for a little period of time. If the reference is so discrete a child will not know what it means will pass as PG. Comedy can help reduce the effect of a reference or innuendo.
  • There shouldn't be any violence in a PG although there might be brief encounters with blood, the injuries causes will not be shown detail if blood was being viewed.
  • Potentially dangerous behaviour that could be copied by children watching it likely to be not allowed  in a PG.
  • Possibility of small references to drugs, although there shall be no focus on this what so ever. If there are references there will be a clear message saying that they are very bad.
Examples

12 and 12A

What can it include?

  • The 12 certificate is used on DVDs where as 12A is only used for cinema viewing only.
  • May have strong language such as "f***", if it does it must be used infrequently. The context of the language is very important as if the language is being used aggressively then it shall be put in the 15 age bracket. There are allowances for string language puns however.
  • Sex may be shown discreetly in 12 and 12A films. Verbal sex references do not go any further than what a young teenager wouldn't understand. Comedy may be used to soften the terms of the sexual context however crude and request puns are unlikely to be allowed in this age bracket. There may nudity but it will brief and discreet.
  • Moderate violence shown but does not go into too much detail. There should be no detail on blood or injuries but brief moments of gore are allowed to be shown.
  • Sexual scenes may be briefly sexually but in little detail and also brief scenes of nudity could be shown but will not be shown for long and will have minor detail.
  • Moderate violence is allowed but details will be left out.
  • Sexual Violence such as rape or assault may be referred to but never shown and if briefly spoken about will have to contain contextual reason.
  • Behavior such as self harming and suicide might be present in 12 and 12A films but will not dwell on detail as they do not wish to encourage this behavior on the children who are watching this if they allowed.

15
What can it Include?
  • There is no limit to what can be involved in a 15 works. As long as it is suitable for 15 year olds.
  • It can contain strong violence going into detail until a certain level.
  • Strong Language like "F***" can be used frquently throughout.
  • Portrayals of sexual activity can be involved but have to have minimal detail.
  • There are strong and severe verbal references to sex.
  • Sexual Nudity is ok for a 15.
  • Brief scenes of sexual violence such as rape ca be included as long as it is in less deail.
  • There can be discrimatory language or behavior during films labelled 15.
  • Also drug taking is shown in 15's and can do into as much depth as they like as by this age people should know the damaging effects that they have to the body.

18

What can it include?

  • As this is for adults only then the violence will contain gore, blood and will be in some cases horrific as this is the maximum rating for a film.
  •  Frequent strong language can be used just like the 15 "F***" is used alot and even in some cases "C***".
  • There are strong portrayals of sexual activity as he age to watch he film is over the age to actually engagae in sexual intercourse.
  • There is a possibility that there could be scenes of graphic sexual violence where people are being violated against their will in detail.
  • In some cases they will show scenes of real sex.
  • Finally there will be scenes where harsh discriminatory language will be used to put characters in threatening situations

Horror Trailers

Most horror trailers are rated 15 to 18 and sometimes 12's due to the 'Horror Factor' of trailers. People associate blood and gore to them. In a 15 they can include most things which are representative of a horror trailer. For example 'Paranormal Activity' is rated a 15 as it is made to scare the audience and give them a reason to be watching horror films.

For a horror trailer to be an 18 they really have t step up their game form a 15 as the gore of deaths can be significantly increased as the violence can be shown at maximum levels. This is exclaimed in the first line of the synopsis for the film 'Curse of Chucky'. Its states;

"Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs." - http://www.lovefilm.com/

The words 'gruesome' and 'suicide' suggest the horror and devastation this horror film has in a back story. As this film is an 18 rated it wouldn't be surprising if they show this suicide in gruesome detail as it has the right to do this as it aimed for the adult age group.

Film Trailer Analysis 1

World War Z

Genre

The genre of World War Z is horror/thriller. This is because the basic plot is a mass outbreak of a disease which turns people into zombies its unleashed at a world wide scale. The main hero is followed throughout the film in an attempt to survive the zombies and find a cure. Zombies are very common in horror films and director Marc Forster has amplified other films zombie outbreaks into a world wide pandemic which can potentially kill over 60% of the worlds population. From different aspects of the trailer we can see the different points at where it shows that its a horror/thriller. Such as when they are trying to escape from the city in the camper van a zombie runs and head butts the glass. If played in slow motion you can see where the zombie makes connection with the glass, the sound to go with this is horrific too to add maximum effect into one simple minor event on the entire film. This is used to embrace the audience in the trailers the smallest things can make audience attention increase dramatically.

Title

The title for World War Z is unique, the normal text is formal but the Z standing for zombie is 'rugged' and 'tatty' to resembles the infectious texture of a zombie. This title in this trailer is not shown until the end of the trailer which, for my research is the most common place it can be and to know that a horror film has a chosen to put it in this location in their trailer motivates me to mine in that same location. The way the title is presented is that it fades from black slowly, this slow animated movement is amplified by the sound. The song plays all the way through and every so often a long percussive note plays which has the power to send a shiver down the spines of the audience. The song is called "Philadelphia" by Marco Beltrami. I liked this song so much I am going to research his other songs and see if there is one I can use for the main track for my trailer.

Location

The location for this specific is across the world in world wide cities such as Philadelphia, Jerusalem and Seoul. The film is about a world wide zombie epidemic therefore it is normal to have all these locations in it. Normally in horror trailers they are either set in a woods or haunted house. Therefore will need to do more research and analysis into other trailers so I can assess the normal setting for a trailer from this genre.

Sound and Narration Overlaps

The narration on a film trailer in a very common convention in general. In the trailer I am analysing there is a lot of evidence of narration overlap. At 1.56 there are clips shown on the trailer put with with narration which is dialogue from the film but from completely different. parts of the film which shows that you can mix things up in the trailer if they work well from sound overlapping through dialogue. This dialogue usually states something about the storyline such as rhetorical questions such as if they will win or not or how the situation is at that particular time in the film.

The Length of Shots

The length of shots is very important as they have to advertise the film in two minutes or less so therefore they have to pack lots of different aspects of the film such as a basic introduction to the plot and a few clips showing the major action scenes. The length of clips is usually 1-3 seconds unless there is a long piece of speech at the beginning to be able to establish the setting. The lengths of shots are very key in this trailer as the fast pace scenes build tension and excitement for the viewers as adrenaline starts rushing when we have a P.O.V shot whilst being chased by a hoard of the undead. The film with the highest ever recorded shot length was done by Alfred Hitchcock, in his film "Rope". The average shot length (ASL) is 433.9 seconds, this is the highest ever recorded as the film is only 10 shots in total but the editing was done so well it looked like one shot, this is a direct contrast to World War Z an the shots are very short in length and get the point across very well for the amount of information that has been condensed into 2 minutes of filming.

Pace

The pace of the shots is key in this film trailer as even though it is a horror/thriller it has many actions and they are widely known to be very fast paced to show tension in the clip. Sound is normally loud and short so the clips have to be short and fast so that they match with each and get across the message in as quick as they can. For my trailer my clips will starts off slow to build tension then ascend into short fast paced clips. This is because when the action starts happening the audience are not ready for it and therefore it creates more of reaction rather than jumping straight into the action.

Editing

Editing in this trailer is very key because it is half action, half horror they need to balance out the various editing techniques as there are different techniques for different genres. Such as for a horror film the colour correction has to be darker than normal to suggest an eerie setting whereas an action scene would be bright with explosions and gunfire. Below are evidence of these two aspects from the trailer.

Action

Horror

Another aspect of the editing I have noticed is that is the cuts. There are only special transitions when text is being shown. I have seen this happen many times in trailers as it gives the title an effect which is supposed to emphasise the importance and create it as memorable as possible. However there is another effect that I would like to view which this trailer does but not as well as some other trailer. The effect I am talking about is flash cuts or blackout cuts where this a flash of white or black that has a significant sound. As I mentioned before the song by Marco Beltrami, the percussive ending of that song is the sound that matches with the blackout cuts in this trailer. I will find another song when creating my trailer I really like the idea of this as I could do smaller ones to build of the finally which would be the ultimatum point of my trailer is mots likely to scare the audience when they view it.

Narrative Elements

The narrative elements in this trailer could be either two things general. hey actually get a narrator to speak, or text appears or film trailers such as this one, have neither. This means I will have to do another analysis on a film with a narrator by speech text. As I would like to do with text this doesn't
help me much but it does show that a film trailer doesn't need narration.

History of Horror Trailers

The History of Horror Trailers

The definition of horror is 'an intense feeling of fear, shock and disgust'. These three aspects are what make a horror trailer unique from all other genres and even the first horror trailers had them. Horror is known as an ancient art from spooky stories to terrifying myths. The audience who watches these films paid to witness and feel the fear from the film and are happy to do this. The genre of horror was always present but the movies didn't really start producing until the 1930's. This is when the film industry discovered the advent of sound and went under some changes for the better on the sound front for films in general. Horror films can cause mental paralysis by entering the minds of the viewers making them feel part of the film and so they feel the effects more than some other people. The plots of horror have always been based around death, mental illnesses and super-natural occurrences. These usually include one villain in particular that is to blame for everything.

The First Horror Film

As a silent and short film "Le Manoir du Diable"  was directed by Gorges Melies from France. The entire film was 3 minutes long and was completely silent. It was a messy display of camera shots with some things that didn't make sense.

This short may have not been the best horror film ever made but it was the first of its kind revolutionising the film industry. Throughout the years other horror films were made, "Nosferatu". Up until the 1940's horror trailers were all very similar including vampires, beasts and other supernatural elements. However the director by the name of Alfred Hitchcock. This individual is the most famous individual to come out of the film industry specialisation in horror and psychological thrillers.

So How Many films did he produce in his 55 year career in the Hollywood film industry.

Alfred Hitchcock's film library set the bar for the directors that attempt horror trailer today. No matter how many horror and thriller that are produced none will be as iconic and a certain stable representation of a
thriller/horror film that Psycho directed by the man wonder himself.

Introduction to Myself

About Me

My name is Scott Pucknell and for my A2 Media coursework I have decided to do a trailer by working on my own. In the future i would like to become a film director after gaining a degree at a university in the field of Digital Film production. I have enjoyed filming and film for many years now and I have the chance to show what i can do behind a camera for my coursework. Here is a little more about me.The subjects I am studying are Media, ICT, English and Business Studies. these subjects I think will benefit me when I'm older and wanting to go in this industry. I am 17 years old and my hobbies are Skateboarding, going to concerts and filming. I dislike Pop music and i am sometimes disappointed with sequels for films. I believe that I have the necessary skills to do well when creating my trailer as I have the attitude that shows I want to learn and experiment with new things to improve my knowledge to be prepared for the industry if I get there.

Film Trailer General Research

Film Trailer Research

Why Make a Trailer

Film companies make trailers to hint to he public about what films they are going to too release soon. They usually help advertise the film, if the trailer is stunning to look at and makes the audience want to view more of it they have successfully advertised it as now that person is more than likely to go and watch that film at the cinema. This shows that this factor is a key piece of film marketing as sometimes the trailer is what people base the entire film on, therefore the trailer is the base reason for the audience to spend money to view the film in a cinema. The film trailers main function is to promote the videos to the public. If they didn’t release the trailer and just released the film people wouldn’t know about the film therefore it would have less income and profit, as people would not know what it is.  So overall the sole and main purpose of a film trailer is to create customer awareness that a certain film is coming out by stating the important bits of the film, which would help with the advertisement of the film so that when the film is released, it is watched widely, and creates a large amount of income.

Selected Clips

Normally in most circumstances the parts of the film with the most action are in the trailer to help get across the idea of the film being interesting and action packed. This signifies to the audience that this film is exciting and a ‘Must see’.  I decided to look at some trailers to see if I could spot the main actions. (DIE HARD 5) Die hard is worldwide known as an action film as it stars the actor Bruce Willis who is one of the best at what he does. This specific doesn’t just bounce straight into the action. This is because the film has achieved such a big name for itself over the years that it only has to put together a variety of shots that could indicate action. Such as the army, and the sniper on the roof of the building. The first explosion in this trailer happens at 45 seconds, this is quite a long time to wait but as soon as this first explosion has happened it sets off other action clips in the film to show the intense amount of action it has in it. The rest of the trailer is made up of fast paced actions scenes to exclaim in an exaggerated way the there is a lot of action, this is shown through, explosions, warfare, car chases, helicopters and both main characters jumping out a skyscraper window.

This is a trailer form Scary movie 5 as I am doing a horror movie so comparing this with the action trailer would benefit me in a lot of ways. The first thing I immediately see is that it is dark and still to present the aura of a super natural presence. For a horror trailer you would expect to see fast paced scenes where the main characters are trying the escape the vision of the monster. Immediately at 18 seconds we get a glimpse of the being which will be a huge part of the film, this puts the audience in their place as they now know what to expect but because  horror trailer are unpredictable they are always on edge as they do not know when it is going to show again. Similar to Die Hard a lot of the trailer is just referencing things that are super natural such as when she is being pulled by nothing, and when she is researching into the suspicious symbols in the ancient book she is reading. As this film is not just a horror film but also a comedy a lot of the trailer will be humour based which is why most of the clip involve people getting hit by doors and acting stupid. The house has obviously been possessed as people are being flung into walls and doors. This shows that to make a horror movie you should include references to the horror side but if there is also a sub genre that allows people can see how different it is from most horror films.

Genre

Films are always sorted into genres depending on what their film is about and what happens. I decided to pick to films and see if I could tell what genre is of the film just by analysing what happens during the trailer. This is the trailer from ‘Transporter 2’.  So as the trailer starts there is a 360 panoramic shot of a black Audi. The music is quiet, muted and fast paced and the actor looks at the camera and states ‘I’m Listening’, this could indicate that he is wanted or wants to find someone.  As the car does a wheel spin the sounds are amplified and the fast pacing of shots shows that it could be an Action film. The trailer then goes off-track to tell the audience a little bit of the story line.  Then a women starts shooting at the main character which tells us the genre of this film is Action. This genre was specified in 35 seconds on the trailer. To compare this time I decided to find another one.

The trailer I compared to it was ‘Stardust’.  As the first opening shots start on this trailer there are a few signs that could hint that it is a fantasy film. The sound is Angelic and sounds similar to that used in fairytales. But also it could have a sub genre, as it seems these two characters are on a date hinting that the genre could be a romance film but we are not quite sure this early in the trailer. A shooting star flies across the sky and lands, this is something that doesn’t happen of occurrence so it could be a fantasy element but we know it is a romance as the main character says things which are romantic in order to impress the girl he is with to make her happy. As he crosses the wall the effect of an invisible force field shows that it’s a fantasy film and to confirm that theory the next shot in the trailer is a girl, who was obviously the shooting star the other characters had seen. This shows that this film is a Romance/Fantasy film. This genre was specified in 30 seconds. To evaluate, these two trailers had specified which genre they were around 30 second, therefore I should attempt to do this when creating my own horror trailer.

Title

The titles are shown on different trailers in different positions. The way they are shown is different too. To create a good analysis of this I have decided to analyse 5 films and where about the titles are show in their trailer. I predict that most will show at the end of the film. Transformers 3 showed the title at the end of the film, I think that this will be the trend all films. Sucker punch also shows this at the end but unlike transformers the Date was shown after, this means that the Title is usually at the end. The man with the iron fist trailer however shows the title before the end of the film. The next shot is a humour shot though even though the film is not a comedy therefore I may have to research further into film that has clips after it shows the title. The film trailer for Turbo shows the title of this film at the start, which is a complete variation to the other films I have analysed, this does work but they also repeat the title at the end of the film. Therefore in fact it is not as different as I first thought. Finally the film trailer form Prometheus mentions the film name in the middle of the trailer but no title comes up. Prometheus shows he title also at the end of the trailer. Overall this research states that the most commonplace t display the title on a film trailer is near the end. Therefore I shall do this on my trailer, as it is the norm from my research.

Location

Usually films have a main setting that is where everything happens, but I didn’t know if they showed much of it in the trailer so to see this I decided to watch 2 trailers from films I have seen to see if they show a lot. The first trailer is for ‘Adventure Land.’ This is about a guy working at a theme park so we expect the trailer should show parts of the theme park. The first image we get of the theme park is 31 seconds in, and then exits the park at 1.26. This is nearly 50% of the trailer is shown at the main location of the film.

The second film I decided to analyse is ‘Mean Girls’. This is mainly set at a school. Straight away after just 4 seconds we can see that they are in a school. The whole trailer is based around this one location, nearly 100%. Therefore I can choose between putting either 50 or 100 percent of my main setting into my trailer when I create it.

Sounds Narration overlaps

I wanted to note the sounds of trailers but more important the voice overlaps for characters. This is the same as a sound bridge but with dialogue instead of sound. It happens in a number of trailers such as this clip from ‘Scott Pilgrim vs The World’ (1.29). This shows that because a trailer hold brief clips of the film that if dialogue is included it may have to overlap to be included.

Editing

The editing for film trailers contains concepts of what I have described before it with other factors too. Going back to the ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the world Trailer’ we can see different cuts they have used.  At 0.14 we can see a whip pan, and the again at 0.23. 0.42 there is a slide. 0.48 the shots are so short it acts as a transition. 1.11 there is a fade into white. 1.18 zooms to fade to white cut. 1.25 fade to black. 1.44 fades to black. These are the list of transitions that were included in the trailer not including normal cuts. As you can see there are a lot of cuts used in this one trailer and there will be more in others. Transitions play a big part in trailers, as when the clips switch sometimes the music may not match it so they need to edit it so that transitions create a matching action for the music. Also if a trailer just has normal cuts it can be boring therefore transitions are used to spice it up a bit. Overall editing is a very important as it can control if people will enjoy the trailer or not so when I create my trailer I will have to think very carefully when I do the editing as applying the right transitions is key.

Fonts

The font of the trailers depends on the genre of the film, action films are usually bold and capital fonts where as in horror trailer and thrillers they are usually small, spooky and have special and unique features which are specific for their genre such as insidious. I will be able to find the font I will use on www.dafont.com as this is the best place to find and download fonts that are easy to use.

Cast and Crew

When a trailer starts to end they usually show the main cast of the film. This is because some films rely on the actors to make it better. An example of this is that Jim Carry is known as one of the funniest actors around so whenever people see his name in a film trailer they are more likely to watch it because of his reputation. Only the main characters are shown so if I do this for mine I will need to research into timings and when I should show them.

Certificate/ Audience

This is very important as there is a huge difference between U,PG,12a,12,15 and 18. Most horror and thrillers are 15 or 18 so I will have to make my film trailer aimed at this audience and certificate.
